Shotgun
Messiah
Sweden, four-piece (1989-1993)
Way back
in the mid-mangling mists of 1989, the band were called Kingpin, and made
an album of pure sleaze called 'Welcome To Bop City'.
Kingpin relocated to Los Angeles, changed their name to Shotgun Messiah,
and in 1989 'Welcome To
Bop City' was finally released in the UK, re-titled
'Shotgun Messiah'.
This shag-tastic four-piece - self-credited as 'Harry K Cody (guitarmageddon),
Zinny J San (provocals), Tim Tim (basstard) and Stixx Galore (drum'n'coke)'
were plagued by bad luck but in 1991 came up with
the consummate 'Second
Sighting'.
|
By this time Zinny had gone, Tim had changed his name to Skold and taken
over vocals, and they'd recruited a new bassist, Bobby Lycon. Confused?
You soon will be...
Despite 'Second Coming' being a god among records, big bucks and megafortune
still avoided Shotgun Messiah, and come early '93 the band had fallen
apart - ironically, on the eve of the release of their new mini-album
'I Want More'.
