M.a.R: Approximately how many albums have sold so far?
TS: Don't know, don't care.
M.a.R: How much input did you have on the album, in contrast to Sascha and Lucia?
TS: The credits on the recordsleeve are properly reflecting the creative input and fairly represent the splits, ie. 2 ppl = 50/50, 3 ppl = 33/33/33.
M.a.R: What was your favorite date on the tour, if any?
TS: Atlanta, I was running a nice Absolut buzz throughout the whole damn thing.
M.a.R: Although rumors of a tour with LOA have been dismissed by Sascha, are there any plans for another tour for this album?
TS: At this point, no.
M.a.R: Why did SwagOnline close, was it that they weren't selling enough to keep their heads above the water, or something else entirely?
TS: Don't know, don't care.
M.a.R: Since SwagOnline has morphed into BootlegTV.com, will there be any collaboration between them and mdfmk?
TS: morphed??? jeez, some chick got a jab at a different company and you're talking morphing. BootlegTV did shoot/film several show on the tour but what will come of this is unknown to me.
M.a.R: I've heard that there's going to be a live video released from this tour, mainly from the New York show. Is there any truth to this?
TS: The NY show was documented by Nitin Vadukul and his crew but once again what will come of this is unknown to me.
M.a.R: Are there any plans to open up a new "official" mdfmk store? I know that myself as well as many other fans would rather buy right from the source than have some middle man pocket all of the cash.
TS: Point well taken but at this point, no, there are no such plans.
M.a.R: KMFDM was known for putting out an album pretty much once a year, is mdfmk going to follow suit in that, or are you going to take longer to develop each album as you did with your self-titled release?
TS: Sascha has repeatedly stated that he does not want to churn out records at the rate kmfdm did.
M.a.R: Has any work been started on a new album, or is it too soon for that yet?
TS: No, there has not been any work done on a new mdfmk record.
M.a.R: How much say do you have in what compilations you appear on? I know on one of them (a Motor Music compilation, to be exact), you appear with several bands that are pretty widely unliked by mdfmk fans such as Eminem and Limp Bizkit.
|
TS: None, customary when you sign a record deal you give the lable the right to use your likeness and name in promotional material of their choice.
M.a.R: Someone had told me that mdfmk (not KMFDM) was on CNN the other day being ripped on for Columbine, any comments?
TS: Comment on what? Someone telling you things, CNN or the Columbine Shootings? Eh, no.
M.a.R: Are you as a group interested in making (or already have filmed) another television appearance like what you did on FarmClub.com?
TS: Sure, we'll gleefully pollute even the nicest of surroundings, including TV studios.
M.a.R: Sascha has said that mdfmk is not anti-MTV, are any plans being made with them?
TS: Bwhahahaha, no, none whatsoever. They play music videos you know, we don't make those.
M.a.R: How many mdfmk fans do you think there are, in relation to how many fans KMFDM had? I've talked to KMFDM fans that can't stand mdfmk, but I've also talked to fans that love them just as much, if not more than mdfmk.
TS: Don't know, don't care. Analizing this stuff is for management and lable, we try to make the best records we can and if ppl like 'em, whoopefuckingdooo...
M.a.R: I understand that mdfmk isn't going to stand on a soapbox and preach their beliefs like KMFDM did, but have your political standards changed at all since the death of KMFDM?
TS: Nope, I'm as bitter as ever.
M.a.R: How do you feel about Republic/Universal releasing so many promotional copies of the album before it's release? Do you think that this has effected sales any?
TS: You're really asking me about mp3's aren't you? Yeah, sure, whatever.
M.a.R: So far the only singles from the album have been promotional items (Rabble Rouser, Torpedoes, Witch Hunt), are you planning on releasing a commercial single?
TS: Not that I know.
M.a.R: Many American fans were disappointed that 'Amerikan Dream' and 'Action/Reaction' were only released on the Japanese version of the album. Is it possible that they'll be released in the US eventually?
TS: That was as disappointment to me as well, sorry, but no, there are no plans for those tracks to be released in the US
M.a.R: I really appreciate you taking the time out to answer my questions.
TS: np. I kinda wish I had better answeres for you though. |
