BAND HISTORY: Coming up

TIM SKOLD (born Thim Sköld 12/14/66)
Pre-Messiah: Coming up (stuff on Act and Shylock)
Post-Messiah: Has, since Shotgun Messiah, married (to Erin), released a self-titled album, 'Skold' (and did some gigs with his band Skold; Kevin Marburg (from Diatribe) - bass, "The Duke" Decter (ex- Drown and Ex-Idols, now producer for HSTV show "Huntington Street") - guitar and B.J. (see below) - drums) and moved to Seattle. Him and mentioned Duke Decter also had small roles in the Zalman King-movie "In God's Hands" (released in 1989). He then joined industry grinders KMFDM for the album '!@$%' in 1997. Just one song, actually - "Anarchy" - and a tour. A second album - 'Adios' - featuring even more of Skold, was released before the break-up of KMFDM. It seemed as Skold had, since the '!@$%'-album and tour, got a bigger role in KMFDM, looking somewhat a permanent member (as permanent as one can get in a band/project/collective as KMFDM), before the band officially split up on the 22 January 1999. Tim, together with Sascha of KMFDM, released an album under the MDFMK-banner before reuniting with the KMFDM-crew for the 2002-album 'Attak'. In between MDFMK and the reunion of KMFDM Skold also joined OhGr for a tour as the bassplayer in 2001 as well as guitarist for Taime Down's band The Newlydeads for one gig at the 2 year anniversary for the Pretty Ugly Club at Dragonfly in 2000 (or was it more gigs?). Tim left KMFDM before the Sturm & Drang Tour 2002 to work with Marilyn Manson but did some guest-appearances (On June 4th in S.F. and on the 5th in Anaheim). Tim lives nowadays in L.A.

Latest news is that, after co-producing Marilyn Mansons upcoming album, Tim now handles the bass in Mansons band - replacing Twiggy Ramirez.
In other words: no new Skold-album for a while. Tim has his own site, at http://skold.com.

HARRY CODY (born Harry Aarne Kemppainen, 10/13/62)
Pre-Messiah: Coming up.
Post-Messiah: After the split up of Shotgun Messiah he started a band called Coma, together with ex-King Of The Hill guitarist Jimmy Griffith, ex-Saigon Kick singer Matt Kramer and a drummer named Ricky Sanders (ex-Savatage???). Unfortunately, Coma never recorded an album and fell apart. After Coma, in '96, he was in a band called Das Cabal (first called Revolver), together with Rhino Buckett-frontman Georg Dolivo. Nothing ended up on "vinyl" with Das Cabal either, but a three-track demo, featuring a track for the low-budget movie "Boogie Boy" saw they day before the split. Dolivo claims in an interview that the band split because of Cody refused to play live. Harry was trying to hunt down a recording deal with his 6-track demo-CD (titled "Stark", recorded in '97) afterwards, but with little of result. He is now earning his living through writing radio- and TV-commercials for companys like Groove Addicts, Pyro Promo Music, Swoop Music, Signature Sound, Berserk Hills Music and Talent Partners. Harry is, as Tim, married.

STIXX (born Pekka Ollinen, 12/24/68)
Pre-Messiah: Coming up.
Post-Messiah: Started a band with Bobby Lycon and vocalist Rick Richards called ColorSexRace right after leaving Shotgun Messiah, where Stixx actually played rhythm guitar! Alan Vasquez from Pothole was one of the lead guitarists. Rumors also says that Stixx was about to start a collaboration with Electric Boys guitarist Martin Thomander. Then he retired from the drum-podium, producing local acts back home in Sweden every now and then... At least this is what I thought until I got a letter from Redd this July. Stixx (nowadays under the name of "P.K.") up until recently had a band together with ex-Shotgun bassplayer Bobby Lycon and Swedes Mika Korpi (earlier in J.K. Knox' Cosmic Zoo and Swedish comedy-band Flin-Stens med Stanley) on vocals and Per "Pärtan" Edvinsson (previously in pop-act Julia who had an album out on Mega Records a while back), guitars, called U.N.I. ("You And I"). Stixx and Per left the band a while ago and it seems, yet again, as Stixx has buried his drumsticks for good. New guitarist in U.N.I. is Tom Jude, previously with Doro Pesch's touring band as well as New York act Tung. Temporary filling in on drums are Alex Kaye, from the band Collision (previously signed to Chaos/Sony). They remaining members are still shopping for a record deal in the states. U.N.I. sound a lot like Simple Minds but heavier - could be worth checking out. A special department on U.N.I. will show up here as soon as I get hold of some material (photos, bio etc.).

BOBBY LYCON (born (6/10/69)
Pre-Messiah: Prior to Shotgun Messiah, Bobby was in a band called Guttercats (together with Anthony Smedile (later in the bands Dig, Teen Machine, The Puppies, now in Hollowbodies. Did some gigs with Dee Dee Ramone as well.), Johhny Black and Josh Blake). The band appeared in an episode of "Married With Children" (episode #414, titled: "Rock And Roll Girl") and recorded one demo. Before that, he was the bassplayer in Battalion, called "Bobby Licon", together with guitarist Jon Sierra.
Post-Messiah: Bobby is now in U.N.I. (see 'Stixx' above). He was also in the band ColorSexRace together with Stixx.

ZINNY J. SAN (born Bo Stagman)
Pre-Messiah: Started out at the age of 18 as a vocalist in swedish glam-act Easy Action (together with later-to-become Europe-guitarist Kee Marcello). Zinny left the band after two years and one album (on Tandan Records/Warner Bros.) to form Dream Police. Before Zinny left Easy Action he and the band also found the time to star in - as well as contributing to the soundtrack - to the horror-flick "Blood Tracks" in 1985. "Blood Tracks" was directed by cult-director Mats-Helge Olsson. More on Dream Police and "Blood Tracks" coming up.
Post-Messiah: Had a few shots with his own project Grand Slam after getting fired from Shotgun Messiah, but nothing really happened. He then recorded an album with his band Zan Clan ('Citizen Of Wasteland'). Another album with this band was recorded and later shelved. Check out the tracklisting here. A rumor circulated a couple of years ago that Zinny was co-working with a movie company on a movie about Finnish/Swedish rockers (?), as well as a project together with former bandmate (in Easy Action) and Kee Marcello. Nothing has been heard of this since. Zinny has also been busy working as tour manager for Swedish band Tribal Ink - a band put together by a Swedish TV3 and a record label (Baseball Records) for a TV-series. Anyone remember The Monkees? These guys won't make it even to the toilet, though... In a couple of weeks Zinny will release his second album since Zan Clan in 1994, titled "City Boy Blues", on Fastlane Records. Guest musicians include Kee Marcello and Motörhead drummer Mickey Dee. A guest appearance by Stixx was planned but somehow failed. Another albums is also in the making; 'Zans Of Time' which features rare and unreleased material from Zinnys time with Easy Action and Shotgun Messiah. More news on this as we get there.

TORD JACOBSSON
(drummer/co-writer on "The Explorer" on 'Kingpin'/'Shotgun Messiah', also in Shylock): Last time I heard he played with a Status Quo cover-act in Sweden, Specters Of Quo (or something like that...). He also teaches drumming.

J. K. KNOX
(born Jukka Kemppainen, the singer in Kingpin prior to Zinny): Started a band called Badzine that later changed to Cosmic Zoo (with Stixx' brother Mika on drums. I'm not sure of this is Mika Korpi - see Stixx, above) and now has his new band, Loafer, where he do the lead vocals as well as the guitar work. I'm still waiting to hear it, guys! ;) His surname is Kemppainen but he is in no way related to Harry. He has also been doing some production in Sweden.

B. J.
(born Bjarne Johansson, Shotgun Messiah/Skold live drummer): Later/meanwhile/earlier in Swedish Erotica, Godsache, Transport League and Zanity. Also a session musician with swedish acts such as Yakida, Together and hillbilly-sixfingers-disco-act Drängarna. Went for a time under the monicker of B.C. Strike.

BILL BRUCE
Rhythm guitarist on the 'V.N.B.' Tour, still plays the good 'ol geetar. Check his website out. Former guitarist of Hellion.

PAT GUYTON
Bassist on the 'V.N.B.' Tour, later in Christian punkband Fanmail.
