• NEWS 7|30|03: Zinny J. Zan was in the studio today nailing down
the vocal tracks for the Cheap Trick Tribute song "Surrender" which
also looks to be the bands first official single. Mixing
should be complete by weeks end. We've heard the rough cut and
we gotta tell you, this band is so alive , they've managed the
difficult
task of combining rythm w/ a more modern sound. Very, very exciting
stuff comeing out of the Zan camp right now and from what Zinny & the
boyz tells us, there's plenty more where this came from! Hopefully
we'll have a song sample up soon but untill then check this out! Zinny J. Zan: Can't Get U Out Of My Mind
• News 7|26|03: Zinny J. Zan will be contributeing a song on the
upcoming Fatslane Records Cheap Trick Tribute album entitled
'Tricked
Out'. It will feature talent from the Fastlane roster, as
well as outside bands. Zans' band was in the studio over the last
week to lay down tracks for thier contribution to the album - "Surrender",
and
Zinny himself should be in the studio within the next few weeks
to lay down the vocals. More pics and info
to come.
• News 7|11|03: Tim Skold is on tour as
bassist this summer with
Marilyn Manson in support of their new release
'The Golden Age Of Grotesque' on the Ozzfest tour. Check marilynmanson.com for
cities and dates.
• News 7|11|03: Bill Bruce has set a tenative
release date of August, 2003 for his latest solo effort 'Systematic
Overload'.
Bill has
also co-mixed and played on the latest Mikey Gilley record
'Invitation Only'. Check Billboard for
release date. (The 1st single is out to radio stations as of now)
You can also go
to Bill's website, billbruce.com to
check out some song samples, among other things. It's definately
worth the time to check out
as Bill is an extremely talented songwriter and guitarist.
• News 7|11|03: Zinny J. Zan is currently
hard at work writing and recording new material w/ a new co writer,
Chris Laney and a new
lineup. (Chris, whom is also included in the lineup as rythm guitarist,
is an exceptional songwriter and producer, as well as a talented
multi instrementalist - almost like a Skold Jr. :-) The new material
is a bit different than what you'll find on 'City Boy
Blues' (Zan's newest solo effort, available on Fastlane
Records and
out in the U.S. but still awaits it's European release.) and actually
sounds more Like Shotgun Messiah w/ a bit of a more modern approach
- you gotta love that! This new project is still in it's earliest
stages and we have not heard anything "official" yet
but hopefully this will turn into something bigger for Zan as it
is some of the best material we have ever heard out of him
to date. Keep an eye out here for further developments as well
as zinnyzan.com.

• KMFDM has their first live-album out on
November 5 on Metropolis Records. Wheter this features Skolds
acapella version of "Anarchy", which he performed as
a guest together with Sascha on a couple of occasions, remains
to
see.
• Zinny J. Zan's new album 'City Boy Blues'
will see a release September 16 on Fastlane
Records.
• (20 Aug 02) Six new - at least unreleased - Skold-tunes
is out there making their way through cyberspace via p2p. The
tracks
are "Burn", "Dead God", "I Hate",
"Believe", "The Point" and "Don't Pray".
These seems to be plain demos of future Skold-work, maybe shelved,
maybe to be released. Funny thing is, the song "Dead God"
carries the same arrangement/beat as "The Beautiful People"
and "Disposable Teens". Titles from the same sessions,
but remains "unreleased", are: "Don't Ask", "If", "Consequence"
and "Too Weird".
• (19 Aug 02) Rough (not yet fully rendered)
previews of the upcoming, 3D-animated video for the KMFDM
tune 'Skurk' is available right
here - and it features, though not in real life, Tim
Skold.
• Tim Skold has replaced Twiggy Ramirez
as the bass player in Marilyn Manson's band. Whether
this is on a permanent basis or not remains to see. Skold has pulled
out of the upcoming KMFDM world tour due to his
commitments with Mr. Manson. This means that Skold's first ever
performance in Sweden after Shotgun Messiah, at the Arvika
Festival, has been cancelled. KMFDM will play though, but
without Skold. |
