Tim Skold contributed by Kim Makoi. There's a "story behind the photo" a few snaps below.

The picture was taken in San Francisco in early 1992. It was backstage (I can't remember the venue... I want to say it was Slim's). Before the show, during an interview. my roommate at the time was writing for the USF Foghorn and Iwas her trusty photographer. This picture is the only surviving one from that shoot.
We were both *very* excited about being granted this interview because we loved the album that they were touring to promote ('Second Coming') and had been playing it nonstop! This particular interview also marked our first reality check with regard to what life is *really* like for musicians on the road versus what the fans perceive.
When we got to the club, the band was in the middle of a little photo shoot for someone else. none of them looked particularly interested and they all looked tired. After that shoot, we waited a few minutes then got to interview Tim! I don't even remember much of what was said. He talked a little bit about the album, the startings of the band, the sucky life on the road... I remember being absolutely blown away when he complained about not having enough laundry money! Laundry money? We figured if you were on MTV, then you probably had some money to burn. Not true -- not true at all. Iremember he told us that a couple of nights before, some fans had asked him for a bracelet and he said 'no' and they were really taken aback, as if he had access to endless goods and was just being a jerk. We were also really surprised to hear that at the time, 3 of the 4 of them were living in one dinky ugly apartment in L.A... (No mansion? No pool?) Ha.

Tim was just about to tell us about some strange nightmares he'd been plagued with at the time when this irritating ass-kissing publicity bitch walked in (I don't remember her name but I can see her horsey face in my mind. Lana? Lara? Shoshana?) and she broke his concentration and he clammed up immediately. That was the end of the interview. We didn't really speak much to Harry, and I don't even remember what Stixx looked like in person, but I remember speaking at length with Bobby (after the interview w/Tim) because I was a bass player too, and had been real impressed with the bass on that album. (we also bonded over growing up as the black sheep in a 1/2 korean household.) Hm.
As semi-depressing as the interview was, I must say, each one of them metamorphosized when they hit the stage and they were vibrant and INTENSE and incredible! It was a great show! While I am happy to say that I got along great with Bobby, Imust confess that Tim seemed kind of annoyed with me and my camera. :( I think that he was tired of being photographed like a zoo animal, but as the photographer (and a beginner at that) I did what I had to do. And just look at the priceless snarly picture I got. Well, not priceless. It sold for $6.50. but... You know what i mean....
